Clomid Protocol for Ovulation Induction |
Clomid is commonly used to induce ovulation. Remembering how to keep each step in sequence can be difficult. See the following to refresh your memory.
Day one of each menstrual cycle is the first day you bleed. Clomid is taken days 3 through 7 each cycle. Clomid last month will not affect the next cycle. Ovulation should happen day 14 to 16. Have sex days 12, 14, 16, and maybe day 18. Check a blood test on day 22 or 23 to measure your progesterone. Progesterone elevation indicates successful ovulation. We will contact you with the results of the progesterone test. If you do not ovulate, we will generally induce a period with provera, and increase the clomid dose. We will repeat this pattern until the ovulatory dose is reached. If you ovulate and reach day 30 of the cycle, CHECK A PREGNANCY TEST! If negative recheck in 4 to 5 days. If you start a period after an ovulatory cycle, repeat the same dosage and timing of clomid and try again. Hope to see you pregnant soon!
